Short version: do it :)

The (not so) longer rationale is that things having common usages and
behaviors should be expressed the same way, enforcing the analogy
between them.

All internal/external/intermap/image links are primarily *links* which
should only differ by the target specification (as the html anchor
does).

Anyway, the previous behaviour could always be provided as a recipe.

BTW, Would it make sense to allow empty titles such as
[[Link""|text]] (whatever the target could be)?
Couldn't this be, by default, a mean to express the target url?
