when one install a cookbook, he have to open permissions, anyway... so 
the very same people should be able to run a script? we don't change 
PmWiki frequently :-)

may be the better should to urge cookbook makers to add an install 
script for they cookbook?

all the cookbook problem you quote are the same when doing so by hand, 
or nearly (where to place the include being the bigger)

the capacity of PmWiki to be configurable is great, but really need 
some improvement.

but of course that don"t mean you have to do this yourself :-)) you 
already do a very good job.

but I barely can help on this respect, not being a programmer
