Thanks Petko and Patrick!

After some hours the ftp connection was restored, so that I could set a
Group.PageName.php file with the
$DiffKeepDays = 90; setting, as Petko kindly suggested
That seemed to solve the issue for that specific huge file.

I could not touch the memory settings, Patrick (your hints are **very
precious**, though) because I'm on a supercheap shared hosting which
is somehow limited in flexibility.

Now that emergency has gone (thanks again to both of you for the kind
and prompt help), there is one thought left...

We have a wiki where some pages are seldom touched, while other are
heavily edited everyday, roughly 100 times a day.
The page that "exploded" this morning was 1 and a half years old.

If I set a $DiffKeepDays = nn; for the whole wiki I will end up in
completely (or so) erase history in the seldom touched pages, while
the often edited ones are correctly kept under control.

Watching the pages and setting the $DiffKeepDays = nn; limit by hand
was a lifesaver for me today, but not an elegant solution to be
perpetuated.

Is there no way to tell the system something like: "apply the
$DiffKeepDays = nn; rule only for files beyond a certain size..."? (or
something similar...)

What do you think?

Luigi
