The newpageboxplus recipe seems to use
$base = MakePageName($pagename, $_REQUEST['base']);

Since you're working on a ZAP update, would you consider 
internationalizing it with an XLPage or equivalent? The current approach 
of providing user feedback with :messages: is useless unless it can be 
translated.
