[pmwiki-users] help!

I thought installation was supposed to be easy?  I'm sure it's
something minor I'm overlooking but I can't seem to get this working.
And I haven't found an easy way to see if this has already been asked
and answered months/years ago . . .

I've installed pmwiki to my web host server.  I created an index.php
file and copied the line of text the documentation said to copy, so
that I don't rename the pmwiki.php as index.php.  That's in the same
file/directory as the pmwiki.php file.

When I attempt to access my site I get the screen that there's no
index or directory.

I have no idea where I'm supposed to change permissions.  When I do a
"get info" on any of the files in the pmwiki overall directory and try
to change the permission to 777 or whatever I get told that's a code
that's not allowed.

HELP, please!  I'm a newbie but not stupid or completely clueless.

The site is www.belovedparrot.com  and my host is powweb.com
