I really like this idea. It would mean that the (backburnered) project I
have where the entire initial contents of the wiki are auto-generated
would be much simpler.

Given the previous facility, a process could take a page from wiki.d,
modify it and drop the new version into the drop-directory. Of course,
then one might have to deal with version skew if someone is editing the
wiki.d version as this happens.
