Well, I "had" a prototype script already.  

I wrote a prototype, tested it briefly, said "okay, it's possible",
and then promptly threw it away because the implementation was a bit 
messier than I wanted and it needed a rewrite.  I'll see if I can 
reincarnate it soon.
