You know that. Most of us know that.

Unfortunately, not all spammers know that.
I suspect that an even smaller percentage of spammers' customers know that.
Beside, I suspect that many spammers don't care to check very precisely 
whether their spam really takes; it might be cheaper to spam yet another 
page than to check.
