Found the problem, I had a group header; it doesn’t like group headers, so I
got rid of it. And put the information in footer, works fine now. 

So If anyone uses this, don’t put a group header in or it will mess up.

It's not necessarily a safe mode problem.
Check the rights first, whether gir.pig.flyingmsn.jpg is readable be the 
php script.
So if "other" has no rights, the script can't read it.
That can happen, when you upload something by FTP the webserver has a 
different user/group, that the ftp-user.
