Convert the pipes to hexdec (or whatever).

2 cool tricks:

1. Type a character in a PmWiki search and it will be converted on the 
browser address bar (at the end, after the ?q=).  Do that here and | 
returns %7C


2. In this case, just click on the link in your e-mail and the address 
that pops up in your browser's address bar is fully converted from:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/review/music/0,6115,1185975_4|114863||0_0_,00.html 


to:

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/review/music/0,6115,1185975_4%7C114863%7C%7C0_0_,00.html
