Thanks so much Hagan.  After hours of tracking down a typo on my part,
the problem was solved.  Everything seems to be working now as I
originally envisioned.  I suspect there will be a few more things to
tweak, once I actually try using the recipe for something....  But it
does what I want!

Thanks also to everyone else so willing to help out in various ways.
