Somehow I have a philosophical aversion (bordering on disgust)
to the idea that every HTML element needs have a class attribute
in it as well.  It just feels very wrong to me -- somehow 
I don't feel like I should *have* to say that <input type='text' ...>
is an "inputbox".  To me it's like saying <pre class='pre'>
or <p class="paragraph">.

That said, I understand the reasons for the request, and will probably
add the class attributes.
