[pmwiki-users] Displaying page name with a limited number of characters?

Hi

I often have the name of the current page in the sidebar, e.g. as

	* [[Edit {$Name} -> {$Name}?action=edit]]

This can however cause a problem when the name of the page is really 
long... I tried making an example here

	http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/Test/ReallyReallyReallyLongPageName-noItIsReallyExtremelyLong

Unfortunately the effect I was looking for, namely that the sidebar 
becomes much wider, didn't happen.

Anyway, what do you think about the possibility of limiting the length of 
the name that is shown, in effect something like:

	{$Name...}

resulting in

	ReallyReallyReallyLong...

Another solution would be to somehow limit the width only when it's shown 
in the sidebar (or not show the name there).

PS. For some reason, the first time I just edited a page a pmwiki.org 
today, the name of the page showed up in the author field... see the 
history of this page
