[pmwiki-users] parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING ....

I haven't touched the code or editd the site in months, but when i went to 
it yesterday - penumbral dot org - (and i visit every day), the following 
error message had suddenly replaced the front page:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in 
/home/penumbra/public_html/pmwiki.php(948) : regexp code on line 1

Fatal error: preg_replace(): Failed evaluating code: Keep(PSS('<img 
align="left" class="head" alt="Soldier''''s damaged goggles." title="One 
soldier holds another soldier’s damaged eyewear." 
src="http://www.penumbral.org/images/1_goggle.jpg">')) in 
/home/penumbra/public_html/pmwiki.php on line 948

--i don't know what this means, and i don't know anything other than html, 
so please be very specific if you have suggestions. thanks in advance,
