In some companies it is easier to use a bought version. ;-) They want 
warrenty and somebody who is responsible for the product. Sometimes this 
is an illusion of security. A company can declare bankruptcy and so you 
have not at all (commercial) support. So a community is (sometimes) more 
stable, but perhaps not so bindingly.
