This sounds like an excellent idea to me and should probably be made part 
of the standard distribution.  ;->

I now remember why I was so keen on this, and in retrospect the "need" has 
disappeared. I was hoping to have to save my authors from creating links 
"the hard way" by providing a bunch of bare-word automatic links. So when 
they entered IBM or Adobe or iHOP, an automatic link would form to the home 
page of each corp. So far, my authors have barely used internal links, let 
alone external ones. Plus, the linking ends up being capricious: a 
discussion of IBM doesn't necessarily need a link to their web site, and if 
it did, it would probably be to a deep link.

You can scratch this request from me. I don't think I made it a PITS entry.
