Yes, that's sort of what I've been thinking ... the beginner page 
(pages?) needs to provide quick, non-threatening descriptions and 
examples of the most commonly used markups, and have links to 
specialized pages that give longer detailed explanations and
examples for when they're needed. 

The MarkupMasterIndex gives a long, possibly intimidating 
all-inclusive list of every possible markup defined by PmWiki, with
links back to the detailed descriptions for each.

So, I'm not sure what to do with TextFormattingRules.  We could
go ahead and leave it as a long descriptive page with lots of markups
and examples, but I'm not sure who would use it or when (which is why
I'm wondering if it's needed).
