Yes, this could be done.  OTOH, for at least the first few versions,
I wouldn't completely trust the conversion process to get everything
right.  There are bound to be some things that are missed -- and if 
you do it in your original wiki.d/ then you've pretty well committed 
yourself to 2.0; i.e., there's no easy way to go back if things don't
work out right away.  (Oh, I suppose one could do a backup. :)

Plus, sorry to say it, upgrading from 1.x to 2.0 is probably not going
to be as simple as replacing the .php files, especially if the site
administrator has done many things in the way of local customizations.
