[Pmwiki-users] Tip when creating http-links on a page

Hi

I just wanted to share a tip about how copy a URI and link text
simultaneous in order to create a link on a wiki page. A typical situation
when this is useful is when you've used google to find interesting links,
and now you want to keep some of these links on a wiki page. Say that
google reported this:

	'PmWiki Cool page'

where 'PmWiki...' is a link. Now you can do "Copy address of link" in
order to get the URI, then you go to your wiki page and write:

	* [[

then you do paste, giving you:

	* [[http://www.pmwiki.org/Some/CoolPage

but you manually have to add "PmWiki Cool page" unless you want to go back
to the google page and do a copy again.

However, if you are using X-windows, you can take advantage of the fact
that the "copy-buffer" and the "primary selection" are two different
things. All you have to do is to use the mouse to highlight the
link text after you've done "Copy address of link". Then go to the
wiki page and write:

	* [[

press 'Shift-Insert' in order to paste the copy buffer, and then use the
middle mouse button to paste the primary selection, resulting in:

	* [[http://www.pmwiki.org/Some/CoolPage PmWiki Cool page

This probably won't make sense to Windows users, but I hope the rest could
follow me...

/Christian
