Hi
I just downloaded 0.6.7, and here are some initial comments:
* The ./README needs a bit of work ;-)
** It lacks a reference to www.pmichaud.com or equivalent URI
** How about putting a description of the subdirectories here, or simply
refer to the relevant page on pmichaud.com.
** And some trivial details:
*** For author/credits, it could refer to the relevant URI
*** For installing, it could refer to the relevant URI
(or create a separate file called INSTALL with the reference)
*** For licences, It could refer to ./COPYING for details
* About ./pub/skins/pmwiki/
** I think a warning such as
"Do not modify these files directly, see README for details."
should go into the top of pmwiki.tmpl and pmwiki.css.
* About ./pub/skins/
** I think a ./pub/skins/README-file is needed which says something like:
This directory is intended to contain files (or subdirectories
with files) that specify the layout of pages at your wiki site.
In order to configure PmWiki to use a custom made template file,
e.g. pub/skins/YourDir/YourTemplate.tmpl, you can set the
following variable in your configuration file (local/config.php):
$PrintTemplateFmt = 'pub/skins/YourDir/YourFile.tmpl';
Please note that upgrading (or re-installing) PmWiki will
overwrite files pub/skins/pmwiki/ and pub/skins/print/, so please
don't modify those files. Instead, copy them to a new directory
before modifying them, and don't forget to change your
configuration as described above.
For information on the layout system in PmWiki, you can look at
your version of the page PmWiki.LayoutBasics, or the corresponding
page at the PmWiki website:
http://www.pmwiki.org/PmWiki.LayoutBasics
/Christian
PS. Unfortunately this URI doesn't work
http://www.pmwiki.org/PmWiki.LayoutBasics
but it'd be nice if it did.
