It's a feature that's been around in pmwiki for as long as I can
remember.  Think of them as references, only there's not a
section at the back of the page where all of the references are
collected together, but rather the references link to what they are
referencing.

There was some talk in the past about collecting these and rendering
them as actual "footnotes" on the page, but I don't remember what
became of that.

Just don't surround your attachments with [[...]] and you'll get
something like "Attach:my_file_here.pdf" as a link in the document.
Or you could use the double brackets to give a more descriptive name:
[[Attach:persfile.doc List of Personnel]]  The "Attach:" markup is
really just an Intermap link.  See
