[Pmwiki-users] Post install - no pages problem

I've installed PMWiki,
and even created a local/local.php file to configure it.

But when I try to edit the home page I get, or follow a link
The requested URL /Main/HomePage was not found on this server.

Permissions are

drwxrwsrwx public_html
drwxrwsr-x    www-data users          wiki.d
drwxr-xr-x    envconor users         wikilib.d

your suggestions would be most welcome

PS I had a look at http://www.pmichaud.com/wiki/PmWiki/ErrorMessages#Setgid, but I'm not sure what to try ... :-(
