Search used to be an action (?action=search), but as of 0.6 the new
method for searching was to browse to a page containing the [[$Searchresults]]
markup.  In 2.0 we use the (:searchresults:) directive to display the
results of a search.

So, searching should still work even with $action forced to 'browse'.
