Rakudo and CPAN

• Rakudo Star does not have the ability to directly use CPAN

• We are not abandoning CPAN

• We aren't yet far enough along for (Perl 5) CPAN integration

• We are working on library management packages for Perl 6
• proto - early prototype, being phased out
• pls - replacement for 'proto' ("PLS library system")

pls install <package>

• distributed repositories and mirrors
• allow multiple transports
• authentication/signing
• request specific module versions
